Honda Civic R Type - Vandal damage
This Honda Civic R Type is its owners pride and joy, and he takes a lot of time and pride keeping its appearance pristine. Sadly he fell victim to a vandal, who put several deep key scratches in it while parked outside his home one night. The customer required the highest standard of finish possible, and so called AUTOSPRAYER.
The first step is to degrease the panel, and then carefully flatten the damaged area, then apply a high quality filler. After this has been flattened back, and the scratches filled, the surrounding panels are carefully masked off. A high build primer is now applied and then baked using infra red heaters before being flattened back ready to paint.
Using the latest in top quality water based paint technology the damaged area is sprayed with colour and blended into the original finish, then we apply top quality two pack lacquer to the entire area. This is then cured until fully hardened using infra red heaters.
Once the lacquer is fully hardened, the panel is given a final polish, and then the car is demasked and left as good as new.
Nissan Micra - Parking scrape
This Nissan Micra suffered a nasty scrape against a wall. The resulting damage had actually bowed the panel in, as well as leaving dents too deep to fill. So after degreasing the panel, the damaged area was carefully sanded back to bare metal. Next a series of brass studs are spot welded into the creases and dents. This is an advanced method of dent repair, and as a short burst of intense heat is used to weld the stud to the metal, it actually shrinks out the stretching effect of the impact, unlike conventional panel beating techniques, which tend to stretch the metal further.
The dent puller is then attached to the stud, and the depressed area is raised flush. The stud is then simply cut off and the area lightly sanded. This is our preferred method of repair for larger dent removal as well. The repair area was then lightly filled, shaped and high build primer applied ready for painting.
After the paint and two pack lacquer were applied the panel was baked with infra red heaters before a final polish, and the car was as good as new.
Mercedes SLK - Parking scrape
This very expensive Mercedes SLK had an unfortunate meeting with a rock on a narrow country lane, causing this very nasty scrape to the passengers door and front sill. As a first class finish was essential to maintain the cars appearance and high value, Autosprayer was the obvious solution to provide a first class finish.
The first job was to degrease thoroughly the damaged area, and the whole door, since to achieve the top quality result required, it was necessary to lacquer the entire panel. Next the damaged area is carefully sanded down to remove any rough edges and remove debris from the impact ready to apply a fine polyester filler, which is then flattened down. The next stage is to carefully mask off the surrounding panels. A high build primer was then applied, and cured with infra red heaters. Once hardened the primer was carefully flattened down, as was the entire door.
Using the latest water based paint technology, the correct shade of paint was mixed and applied to the damaged areas, and carefully blended into the original, lacquer was then applied to the damaged sill area and faded out, but the entire door panel was lacquered using two pack lacquers. The lacquer was then cured thoroughly using infra red heaters, before a final polish, then the car was demasked.
The car was restored to its former pristine condition, and its considerable value maintained.
